Journey to Mitzvot (J2M)

It is the belief at Anshe Emet that B’nai Mitzvah should be an experience filled with meaning. The J2M program provides a forum where students and their parents can learn together to prepare for this transformative family moment.

Our J2M program begins in fourth grade (J2M4) with two Friday night Shabbat learning sessions and services, continues into fifth grade (J2M5) with Saturday morning and mincha (afternoon) shabbat sessions and services, and our program culminates in sixth grade (J2M6) where families attend five sessions on Sunday mornings to prepare together – as families and as a cohort – for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

The B’nai Mitzvah Handbook includes comprehensive information about Anshe Emet’s Bar and Bat Mitzvah process from date assignment through the date of becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

If you need a copy of the B’nai Mitzvah Handbook or for more information about J2M, please contact the Director of Ritual Advancement, Yair Bernstein.
